Why I Built This

I've finished maybe ten books in my entire life. Not Harry Potter. Not Pride and Prejudice. It's not that I didn't want to - I'd grab something before every flight, determined that this time would be different. It never was. With ADHD, reading feels like wading through mud. By the time I'd get through a chapter, I'd forgotten how it started.

Then I stumbled onto something that changed everything: cinematic audiobooks. Full-cast productions with distinct character voices, original scores, and immersive soundscapes. Suddenly, stories weren't something I had to fight through - they pulled me in. I finished books. I joined a book club. I understood what readers meant when they talked about getting lost in a story.

The problem? These productions barely exist. They cost a fortune and take forever to make. Most audiobooks still use a single narrator - one voice playing every character, young and old, male and female. It works, but it's not the same. It doesn't transport you.

I built Midsummerr because everyone deserves to experience stories the way I finally could. And every author deserves to have their work come alive this way - without the impossible price tag.
